Your Virtual Paint Consultation begins here.

I am so glad you are here!

I look forward to helping you select the right colors for your project. I have an assignment for you to complete (it’s pretty easy peasy) so I can give you the most accurate color advice.

Online Color Design Consultation

The Virtual eDesign Process

My eDesign service provides access to my 7+ years experience in selecting color for hundreds of homes and getting the color right, and most importantly getting the neutral undertone correct.

I am a boutique home staging and color consulting business, therefore I manage and select every suggestion and aspect of the project.

My process works best when you tackle your eDesign project in the following order.

STEP 1

Take photos of your space (see more instructions on how to take photos in the next section).

STEP 2

Create your idea board on Pinterest or Houzz. Be ready to grab the link to your idea board.

STEP 3

Click on the link in your email to complete the questionnaire. There is space there for you to discuss all your ideas or concerns, and they will all be kept in mind as I make my recommendations. This is also where you will also share the links for steps 1 and 2.

Please note, I cannot begin your eDesign consultation before payment and all steps are completed.

Once you return all the information, I will collect my design advice and put it all together in a clear presentation. It will include images to illustrate what I am recommending, complete with explanations and advice, and links to any products I suggest.

Step 1: Take Photos

Because I won’t be able to visit your home in person, the right photos are very important so that I can see the neutral undertones accurately. Please read this section carefully.

Taking the time to send in the right photos will speed up your consultation and assure you the best possible solution.

I use a system of how to take photos and ask questions that covers all angles and allows me to truly help people with their color and decorating dilemmas.

Capturing photos with your phone is the most convenient way to gather the shots I need for your eDesign consultation.

How to take photos of your interior:

  • Take photos of your whole room from at least two different angles in natural light, with no flash. I understand some rooms don’t have any windows or natural light, so just do your best with the lighting available and let me know in your notes. You will be able to make sure the recommendations are accurate during the testing process. Pictures of low light with some natural light are preferable to having the lights on. The best time of day for photos is when the sun is high in the sky so that it doesn’t stream in through windows creating dark and bright spots.

  • Take a few photos with white paper (in natural light, with no flash) of each fixed element that will be staying like stone, brick, carpet, countertops, window frames, cabinets, or tile.

  • Take photos with white paper (in natural light, with no flash) of any upholstery, rugs, drapes, or other soft furnishings that are staying.

  • Take a few photos (in natural light, with no flash) of adjoining rooms so I can help you create flow.

  • If applicable, take photos of any samples you are considering such as tile, countertops, carpet, cabinets, etc. on white paper (in natural light, with no flash). If you don’t have any samples yet, I am here to help you with what to look for.

  • Always include images with white paper (in natural light, with no flash) showing ALL of your kitchen finishes for any interior color consultation (even if you aren’t consulting on your kitchen specifically).

Examples of Photos

How to upload your photos to an online album.

Using your phone to gather the shots I need for your eDesign consultation is great. However, I will need them to be added to an album on an online photo sharing site that I can access with a public link.

Sites like Dropbox have space requirements that prevent me from accepting a shared folder invitation. That’s why I recommend using this free site instead. Please do not email your photos.

This sharing method work best when you download the app to your phone first.

Google Photos

Step 2: Set Up an Inspiration Board

Please create an idea board on either Pinterest or Houzz with 7 to 20 images of rooms that appeal to you. Please be sure to mark your board public (accessible by a link) for the duration of the eDesign process. Please do not invite me to share your Pinterest board.

Watch this short video that explains how to share your photo and inspiration board links with me on the questionnaire.

Step 3: Answer Questionnaire

Please answer the questionnaire in one sitting. Google does not allow my questionnaire to be saved before you submit it. If you don’t think you can finish this questionnaire all at once, I recommend adding your answers to a Google document or Word document as you go, so you don’t lose your progress.

To help you prepare, here are some of the questions I will be asking:

Interior Questionnaire

  • Do you (or your painter/contractor) have a preference of paint brands?

  • List any fixed elements you are planning to change. A fixed element is any finish that is ‘permanently’ installed in your room. For example, flooring, carpeting, tile, countertops, stone, brick. If you’re not planning to change anything, don’t worry about this.

  • Are there any furnishings (such as sofa, rug, drapery) you are planning to replace or remove?

  • What is your paint trim color (i.e. baseboards, crown molding)? Use specific product or company paint color names when possible.

  • Checklist of colors that you are interested in seeing in this space (as well as colors you do not like).

  • Tell me about your home. What do you love about your house? What do you dislike and want to change?

What happens next?

Once I receive your complete information from Steps 1 through 3, I will begin a file on your project.

There generally isn’t a back and forth conversation unless more information or photos are required. But, if there is more than one option for handling your decorating project, the instructions on how to handle it in various ways will be included.

Your presentation will be delivered to you via email within the promised turn around time from when I received your complete information.

I understand that you might still be left with questions after you review the recommendations. Your eDesign consultation includes a follow-up question in one clear and concise email.

But, if you have several questions or would like feedback on your testing of samples, or are considering alternative materials and colors, you can buy a Follow Up Service for $125. The follow-up service buys you one hour of correspondence and review time with me. If you need more time beyond that, I can provide an invoice to book additional time.

Guarantee and Refund Policy

There is no deadline to send in your information – I’m ready whenever you are! You have paid for my time so if for some reason you move or something changes before you can implement our recommendations there will be no refund. We want you to be happy, so if there is an issue other than personal preference we ask that you share photos of your color testing and any objections or concerns you might have and give us the opportunity to modify my selections before you totally reject them.

Please note, I will not provide a refund unless I have had the chance to make adjustments to my initial recommendations.

Refund Policy for UNUSED Consultations

Things come up in life, situations get altered or sometimes we just change our mind – it happens. I am here to make you happy, and I am committed to complete client satisfaction. So, if within 90 days of your purchase, and prior to submitting your information, you change your mind, I will provide a refund less a 5% administrative fee. After 90 days, or once you have initiated the consultation process by submitting your information, I can no longer provide a refund.

Make it stand out.

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
