Top 5 Picks for Timeless Kitchen Pendant Lights
Pendant lights can be AMAZING over a kitchen island. The trick is choosing the right style and size, one that creates a focal point, but without blocking or competing with any other kitchen statements such as a range hood. Today I’m sharing five classy, affordable pendants that are considered an average in size. If you would like help in finding oversized statement pendants, I can help you with that also.
Hilton Pendant
The Hilton Pendant is understated and available in black or white. What I like is the simple geometric style with an accent of gold. This works well with white or other painted cabinets, especially when complemented with white or black quartz/quartzite/granite. Using gold knobs or pulls on your cabinets will repeat the gold to make the kitchen look cohesive and beautiful. Find yours here.
Sigmund Pendant
The Sigmund Pendant also is available in black or white. It is a bolder option with a sophisticated gold-leaf finish inside the shade which gives the room a warm glow and a pop of contrast. It works well in a modern, industrial, or transitional kitchen. So stylish! Grab yours here.
Demi John Pendant
Have a coastal or farmhouse style kitchen? I love this pendant with a subtle, textured glass bottle hanging from a twisted jute rope which adds a lot of character and style. If you love the look of Edison warm bulbs, this is a pendant you may love. Make it yours here.
Mist Pendant
Chrome faucets are timeless and really add reflective shine to kitchens. This beautiful pendant has chrome details with sand-blasted glass, which makes it a very versatile pendant, so good in many homes. Not into chrome? It's available in brushed gold and copper as well. Get yours here.
Ofelia Pendant (gold leaf)
This fabulous gold leaf pendant creates a statement on its own. It's beautiful above an island in a contemporary or traditional kitchen. Make sure that gold is repeated somewhere else in the kitchen so that this coordinates nicely. This pendant has a sophisticated style and would also make a nice entryway light. Purchase yours here.
Pendant Tip of the Day
A bonus designer tip for pendants over a kitchen island is to think about the scale of the pendants to the size of the island. A four-six foot island usually needs two pendants, probably about 10-15 inches in diameter each. An eight-ten foot island would handle three pendants about 15 inches in diameter, or possibly two larger pendants to create a bigger statement. If pendant lights interfere with a beautiful feature or amazing view, skip them all together and used recessed ceiling lights instead.
